How the cartoon effect works
A cartoon look comes from two things: large areas of flat color and dark outlines around shapes. The cartoonizer produces both from an ordinary photo. First it smooths away small details such as skin texture, grass or noise while keeping edges intact, then it reduces the picture to a limited set of colors and draws lines along the strongest edges.
Four sliders control the result. Smoothing sets how much detail is flattened, outlines how many edges become lines, line thickness how bold they are, and colors how many tones remain — fewer colors give a comic-book style, more colors keep the photo recognizable.
Portraits with clear lighting and pets against a simple background give the cleanest results. Compare with the original using the before/after view and download the cartoon at full resolution.
