Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to https://photoretrica.com/ ("PhotoRetrica", "we", "us"), a free online photo editor and collection of image tools. It explains what information is collected when you use the website, how it is used and when it may be shared.

All PhotoRetrica tools — the photo editor, converters, compressors, PDF tools, OCR, background removal and the other tools — process files locally in your web browser. The images, documents and videos you open are not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see them.

Some tools download resources they need to work: AI models (for example for background removal) are downloaded from Hugging Face, and text-recognition language data from a public CDN. Only the resource is requested; your files are never sent.

The free stock photo search sends your search query to the Openverse API (openverse.org) to find openly licensed images.

Like most websites, our servers receive technical information that browsers send with every request: IP address, browser type, language preference, referring site and the date and time of the visit. We use it to operate, secure and improve the website, and we may publish aggregated statistics that do not identify anyone.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes usage data according to Google's privacy policy.

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the message, the optional email address and subject, any screenshots you attach and the address of the page you sent it from. We use this only to answer you and to fix problems, and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Some tools (for example the invoice generator) can save drafts in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device; you can delete it by clearing the site data in your browser.
