Use the tool controls; the preview updates as you change them, so you can see the result before saving.

  3. 3

    Download the result

Save the finished image to your device, or open it in the photo editor to keep retouching it with layers, filters and AI tools.

WebP for faster websites

WebP is an image format introduced by Google in 2010 specifically for the web. Its lossy mode typically produces files 25–35% smaller than a JPG of similar visual quality, and it also supports transparency and animation. All current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari display WebP, and page speed audits such as Lighthouse recommend serving images in modern formats like it.

Converting JPG to WebP is useful for site owners, bloggers and online stores: lighter images mean faster pages, less mobile data and better loading scores. For files you send to people or print, JPG remains more universal, since some older desktop programs still can't open WebP.

The quality slider goes from 10 to 100% and starts at 85%. Compare the estimated size under the preview while you adjust it; for most photos 75–85% gives a clear saving with no visible difference. Because the source JPG is already compressed, avoid pushing the quality too low, or artifacts from both formats will add up.

Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
