From GIF to JPG
GIF dates back to 1987 and is best known for short looping animations. Each frame is limited to a palette of 256 colors and transparency is all-or-nothing, so GIF suits simple graphics much better than photos. JPG handles millions of colors and is accepted everywhere, which makes it the better container for a still picture you want to share, print or post.
With an animated GIF, a frame slider appears under the preview: drag it to pick the exact moment you want as a JPG, such as the best reaction or a clear shot of a product. A static GIF is converted directly.
JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with a background color — white, black or any custom color. The quality slider runs from 10 to 100% and starts at 92%. Drop several GIFs at once and download the results one by one or together in a ZIP archive.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
