Turning a JPG into vectors
JPG is a pixel format made for photos, and its lossy compression leaves faint blocky noise around edges. SVG stores an image as vector paths that stay sharp at any size and can be cut on a plotter, engraved or edited node by node. Converting JPG to SVG means tracing: the image is reduced to a limited set of colors and the outline of every region becomes a curve.
Because JPG sources are usually photos or scans, the tool starts with the Posterized preset, which produces a stylized, illustration-like result with a few colors and smooth shapes. For a scanned or photographed logo choose Logo, for richer images Detailed, and for signatures, stamps and ink drawings Black & white. Fine-tune the number of colors from 2 to 64 and the path smoothing; stronger smoothing hides compression noise and makes the file smaller.
For the cleanest trace, start from the largest and sharpest JPG you have. Process several files at once and download them as a ZIP.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
