MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14)

MP4 is the file extension of the MPEG-4 container format, which can include all types of multimedia (video, natural and synthetic audio, 2D and 3D graphics, animated avatars, etc.). MP4 is one of the new standards in the world of digital coding of video and audio information. This format serves as a container for various types of audio and video streams (i.e. it does not include any information compression algorithms). MP4 is the most common file extension for the MPEG-4 format. An Mp4 file can contain both audio and video, and files with the M4A extension contain only audio tracks, and with the M4V file extension contain only video data. The M4R file extension is used for MP4 ringtones in iPhone smartphones and in the same place, the M4B file extension is also used. All of these formats use the same MPEG-4 technology.

A GIF file is an image file that is often used for web graphics. GIF images can also be animated and saved as “animated GIFs”, which are often used to display basic animations on websites. GIF animated images are a sequence of several static frames, as well as information about how long each frame should be shown on the screen. The animation can be made looped, then after the last frame the playback of the first frame will start, etc. When creating an animation, the process happens so that the individual phases of the animation are created like regular images (in any editor), and then you are in the corresponding program (for example, Adobe Image Ready) add them to a kind of tape. Sometimes the fact that GIF contains animations is underlined by the words "animated GIF".
