Video to GIF, done right
GIF animations play automatically and silently almost everywhere — in chats, forums, emails, documentation and on social media — which makes them perfect for reactions, short tutorials and product demos. MP4 is a far more efficient video format, so the key to a good conversion is keeping the GIF short and light.
Open an MP4, WebM, MOV or any other video your browser can play, then drag the start and end handles on the timeline; the first five seconds are selected to begin with. Choose the frame rate from 5 to 30 fps (12 by default), the width from 64 px up to 1280 px or the video's own width, and whether the GIF loops forever, plays once or repeats a set number of times.
GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame. Reduce the number of colors for a smaller file and keep dithering on for smoother gradients. The panel shows the clip length and frame count and warns when the GIF is getting heavy; a shorter clip, lower frame rate or smaller width helps the most.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
