Opening PSD without Photoshop
PSD is Adobe Photoshop's native format. It keeps layers, masks, adjustment layers, text and effects so a design can be edited later, which is why mockups, banners and retouched photos are often delivered as PSD. Without Photoshop, though, such a file is hard to even look at, and it is far too heavy to send to a client or post online.
Alongside the layers, Photoshop normally saves a flattened composite — exactly what you see with all visible layers combined. This converter reads that composite and saves it as JPG, so the result matches the Photoshop view. If a PSD was saved with “Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility” turned off, it has no composite; re-save it with that option on.
Choose the JPG quality (10–100%, 92% by default) and the color for transparent areas: white, black or custom. Convert several PSDs at once and download them singly or in a ZIP. To work with individual layers, open the file in the PhotoRetrica photo editor, which reads PSD.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
