RGB to HSB What is the difference between RGB and HSB

RGB (from the English words Red, Green, Blue - red, green, blue) is an additive color model, as a rule, describing a method for synthesizing a color for color reproduction. This model describes the emitted colors. It is based on three primary (base) colors with wavelengths: 700.0 nm for red, 546.1 nm for green and 435.8 nm for blue. The RGB model is derived from the English words: red, green, blue. The rest of the colors are obtained by combining the basic ones. Colors of this mixed type are called additive. The main thing to understand is that the additive color model assumes that the entire palette of colors is made up of points of light. That is, on paper, for example, it is impossible to display a color in the RGB color model, since paper absorbs color, and does not glow by itself.

In fact, HSB is an enhanced version of RGB. But the cornerstone here is not colors, but the perception of shades by a person. In the title, the abbreviation is used again. H indicates Hue, S indicates Saturation and B to Brightness. The hue can vary from 0 to 360. Saturation values are defined in the range from 0 to 100. Luminance works by a similar criterion. Interestingly, HSB uses RGB primary colors, diluting them with black or white. Each shade is calculated using a mathematical formula. When working with color, many artists and graphic designers choose the HSB model. They note that this system is the most accurate. Recently, HSB has begun to be used in the creation of web applications and computer programs. So, the new versions of the photo editor Adobe Photoshop, as well as the video editor Final Cut Pro adhere to this model.
