About TIFF files
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a flexible format used by scanners, fax software, print workflows and photo archives. It can store images uncompressed or with lossless compression, at high bit depth, and it can hold several pages in one file. That makes it excellent for masters and documents, but the files are large, and browsers, messengers and most websites can't display them.
Converting to JPG turns a heavy TIFF into a small file you can email, upload or view on any phone. Multi-page TIFFs are split so that every page becomes its own numbered JPG, or you can convert only the first page. Transparent areas are filled with a background color of your choice, white by default.
Set the quality with a slider from 10 to 100%; the default 92% keeps scans and photos looking like the original. A few rare TIFF compression types can't be decoded in the browser. To combine the pages into one document instead, use TIFF to PDF.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
