Tilt-Shift Effect
Make streets, cities and landscapes look like tiny toy models by blurring everything outside a sharp band.
How to use: Tilt-Shift Effect
- 1
Upload a photo
Photos taken from above, like streets or landscapes, work best.
- 2
Place the focus band
Drag on the photo to move the sharp area, then set its width, angle, softness and blur. A saturation boost adds to the miniature look.
- 3

Save the result at the original resolution as JPG, PNG or WebP.
The miniature illusion
Tilt-shift lenses can tilt the plane of focus so that only a narrow strip of the scene is sharp. We associate such shallow focus with close-ups of small objects, so a real city photographed this way looks like a model railway. The effect can be imitated by blurring the top and bottom of a photo and leaving a band of sharpness in between.
Drag on the photo to place the sharp band over the main subject — a street, a square, a row of cars. Set the focus width, the softness of the transition and the angle for diagonal scenes, then the blur amount. Saturation and contrast boosts make colors look like painted plastic and strengthen the toy-like look.
Photos taken from a high viewpoint work best: a rooftop, a bridge, a hill or a drone. The result keeps the original resolution.
