Why add a vignette
A vignette is a gradual darkening toward the edges of the frame. Old lenses produced it naturally, and photographers now add it on purpose: the eye goes to the brightest part of a picture, so darker corners keep attention on the subject and make busy surroundings less distracting.
Strength sets how dark the edges get, size how much of the frame stays untouched, feather how soft the transition is, and roundness the shape of the effect. The center doesn't have to be in the middle: click or drag on the photo, or use the arrow keys, to place it on a face that is off to one side. A white or colored vignette gives a light, dreamy look instead of a dark one.
A subtle vignette suits portraits and product shots; a strong one works for dramatic or vintage styles.
