About WebP compression
WebP is an image format developed by Google for the web. It supports lossy and lossless compression as well as transparency, and at the same visual quality a lossy WebP is usually noticeably smaller than a JPG. All modern browsers display it, which is why it is widely used on websites and in online stores.
This tool saves the image as lossy WebP at the quality you choose from 10 to 100%. Values around 75–80% are a common choice for web pages; lower settings give smaller files but blur fine texture. The panel shows the original size, the new size and the percentage saved.
You can also open a JPG or PNG here to convert it to WebP and compress it in one step — a simple way to make pages load faster.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
