Animated WebP and GIF

Many sites deliver stickers, reactions and short animations as animated WebP because it is much lighter than GIF. The catch is compatibility: messengers, forums, email clients and older editors often accept only GIF. This converter rebuilds the animation as a GIF with the original frame timing, so it plays at the same speed.

GIF is limited to 256 colors per frame and uses on-off transparency, so smooth gradients and soft shadows may look coarser. Choose a palette of 256, 128, 64 or 32 colors — fewer colors give a smaller file. Transparent areas can stay transparent or be filled with white, black or a custom background, which often gives cleaner edges.

Turn off “Keep animation” to get a single still GIF instead. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can read the frames of animated WebP; in other browsers only the first frame is converted. Add several files at once and download them singly or as a ZIP.

Everything runs locally in your browser — your images are never uploaded to a server.
