Tumblr header and post sizes
The header image sits at the top of your Tumblr blog and sets its mood, together with the round avatar that appears over it. The 3000×1055 canvas gives a sharp header even on large, high-density screens. The 1280×1920 vertical canvas is for posts, where tall images take up more of the dashboard.
The header is cropped to fit different screen widths, so keep the blog name and the important parts of the image near the center, and avoid placing text where the avatar overlaps it. For posts, a single strong visual with a short line of text is the easiest to read on the dashboard and still works when it is reblogged.
Pick one of eight designs, type a headline, subtitle and a short line or your blog URL, then choose a font, colors or a gradient and add your own photo, which you can drag and zoom right on the preview. Safe-zone guides show what gets cropped or covered, and they are never exported. Download a PNG or JPG at the exact pixel size, or press Open in editor to keep working on layers in the photo editor.
