From HEX to RGB
A HEX code packs three numbers into six characters. Split #1E90FF into pairs — 1E, 90 and FF — and convert each from base 16 to base 10: 1E is 30, 90 is 144 and FF is 255, so the color is rgb(30, 144, 255), the CSS color DodgerBlue. The converter does this for you and also accepts the short form, where #09C means #0099CC.
You need RGB values when an app or library asks for separate channels, for example in Android or iOS code, game engines, LED controllers, spreadsheets or Python image libraries, or when you want to add transparency in CSS with rgb(30 144 255 / 50%). Paste the code with or without the # sign and copy the rgb() result or any of the other formats shown: HSL, HSV and CMYK.
