Despite the format's shortcomings, it is considered the most popular image format on the Internet and people use it. JPEG is the most widely used bitmap format online. It is commonly used to save photographs, email graphics, and large images such as banner ads. Files jpg and jpeg are ubiquitous to us, because these extensions belong to pictures and photographs. JPG has earned its popularity for its flexible data compression capabilities. If necessary, the image can be saved with maximum quality. Or compress it to the minimum file size for transmission over the network. JPG uses a lossy compression algorithm. What does it give us? A clear disadvantage of such a system is the loss of image quality every time a file is saved. On the other hand, compressing the image 10 times simplifies data transfer.
